Danish interior and design fair makes a difference to the industry
Blue fluted plates, classic thermos flasks and design icons from well-established brands such as Royal Copenhagen, Stelton and Georg Jensen could be experienced alongside hand-crafted ceramics, mouth-blown glass from new upcoming brands at Formland.
The 69th edition of the Danish interior and design fair Formland, held on 16-19 August 2018 in Herning, Denmark, gathered 502 Danish and international exhibitors together - both well-established players and newcomers - to present a wealth of exciting new products. Visitors could experience, among others, the inspiring trendzone 'HOUSE OF FREAKEBANA', which paid tribute to the maximalist trend, the trend café 'Ma', with its focus on the minimalist lifestyle, the 'Green Escape' area, styled by six different and well-known influencers, not to mention design talks from the sharpest minds in the industry, who shared their knowledge and debated current topics.
A platform for the entire interior and design industry
Among the 500+ exhibitors at Formland, visitors could discover bold, upcoming designers, international exhibitors, such as the Dutch PUIK and Swedish String Furniture and also the big, well-known Danish brands, such as Stelton, a long-standing exhibitor at Formland:
"We are attending 18 trade fairs this autumn. Last week-end we were in New York, but there's nowhere quite like Herning. Formland brings the entire industry together, which keeps us on our toes. It's important we have a place where competitors meet, where customers meet, and where you quite simply see the industry at its best," says Michael Ring, owner of Stelton.
Award-winning American blogger and writer Holly Becker (decor8), who visited the fair for the second time, was also particularly impressed:
"Formland is warmer and friendlier than other fairs. People really want to network and you can meet everyone and talk. You have the time and there is no pressure because the fair has a nice size - not too big and not too small. There is a lot to see and some of the bigger brands are here as well. I feel it is fantastic and it is comfortable - the journey is really worth it for foreigners," says Holly Becker.
Holly Becker joined Swedish trend expert Stefan Nilsson (Trendstefan) together with international speakers on the SPEAK UP stage, and alongside the sharp minds at the fair's innovative design talks, where the subjects 'Trends & Tendencies' and 'How social media and networking can make your business grow' were debated.
Formland Spring takes place on 31 January - 3 February 2019 in MCH Messecenter Herning.
